Bebaloncar is a musical entity born in 2021, blending new wave, psychedelia, and dark folk into a melancholic, immersive, and deeply evocative sound.
The band emerged from a nightmare envisioned by Scanna (vocals, rhythm guitar), a musician with a solid background in the Italian indie scene (Sciacalli, Primeteens, Pamela Tiffins, Bohemians), and is completed by Iris Martyr (lead guitar, backing vocals), Fab (bass), and the studio collaboration of Carlo Altobelli (percussion, synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers). Together, they create immersive atmospheres, where every sonic detail contributes to the project’s distinctive identity.
Bebaloncar’s influences range from dark folk to psychedelia and darker new wave, intertwining cinematic elements with emotional introspection.
In 2022, they released their debut album Suicide Lovers, praised for its fusion of dark new wave, shoegaze, and neo-folk, and listed among the year’s best albums by publications such as Blow Up. In 2024, the band released Diary of a Lost Girl, a concept album inspired by silent cinema with shades of dark dream pop, ranked among the top 100 albums of the year by Rumore. The trilogy concluded in 2025 with Love To Death, a journey through loss and the darker sides of the human soul, confirming a unique and recognizable musical identity.
On stage, Bebaloncar deliver their music in immersive, engaging performances, with hypnotic guitars and melodies suspended between heartache and dream. The band has played indie venues across Italy, gaining recognition for intimate and intense shows, establishing themselves in the indie scene.
